If you already have your own centring and diagnostic tools, this is the piece you need and nothing more: normalisation and equalisation algorithms applied to images that are already framed and cropped.
Base does no face centring and no diagnostics: it assumes you already have that part, inside a program of your own or in another product. It does one thing — the hard one: making a photograph usable in terms of colour, brightness and skin tone rendition.

The typical case is an existing photographic archive, accumulated over years to varying criteria, that has to be brought back to a uniform standard. Base connects to existing databases and processes in bulk, with no human intervention.
That is exactly what our sample image sets are for: they contain both regular portraits and cases that are unusable without normalisation. Colour and black-and-white algorithms give different results, so test both.
The demonstration screens currently available for Base come from the PhotoNorm Enroll application running in BASE mode, and therefore show an interface which is not the one of the real product, which is more spartan.
We would rather not publish a walk-through that shows the wrong window: it would be misleading. It will be published once we have screens of the final interface.
